Renting a car in Sardinia – Tips and advices

- To be able to drive in Sardinia, you need to hold a valid EU driving license. In case you are not a EU citizen, it is mandatory to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your passport or your home country driving license translated in Italian.

- To rent a car you need to be at least 21 years old and if you are under 25 years old you’ll have to pay a fee to be a young driver. Car rental partners will ask you for a valid credit card and a valid driving license.

- If you wish to rent a scooter, which is a really popular mean of private transport in the island, you must be at least 14 years old to be able to rent a scooter under 50cc. To be able to rent a motorcycle of above 125cc you must be 16 years old and have a car driving license, or 18 years old and have a motorcycle license.
